How results are ordered

FacilityVR Courses lists courses from training providers on FacilityVR. Some providers pay to promote their courses. This page explains how that affects what you see. The rule is the same for every provider.

Your results

Only courses that match your search and filters are shown. Paying never adds a course that doesn’t match what you asked for, and never hides one that does.

Results are ordered by how well they match your keywords, when you’ve searched for some, then by how many people have enrolled, then newest first. Featured courses are the only exception.

Featured

A provider can pay to feature a course for people browsing from its own country. When featured courses match your search, up to three of them go at the top of the results, each marked Featured.

When more courses are featured than there are places, they take turns fairly. Each visit gets its own order, which stays the same while you browse and page through the results. Over many visits, each featured course is at the top equally often. A featured course that doesn’t get a place at the top keeps its usual position, without the label.

Sponsored

A provider can also pay for an ad for one of its courses, shown to people browsing from its own country and marked Sponsored. Ads appear between rows of the course list and beside course and provider pages, never on the page of the course the ad is for. We review every ad before it runs.

Ads take turns fairly, in the same way as featured courses, and a page never shows the same ad twice. An ad only ever opens its course’s page on this site. When no ad is running, its space is left out.

Your country, and your privacy

To show the promotions for your country, we use the country you’ve chosen in the filters, otherwise your internet address, otherwise your browser’s time zone. When we can’t tell, nothing is featured and no ads are shown. We don’t keep your country or address.

Your browser keeps a random value for your visit, cleared when you close the tab, so the order stays the same while you browse. It isn’t a cookie and says nothing about you. We count how often each featured course and each ad is shown and clicked, as daily totals only, for the provider’s report. This site sets no cookies. Our privacy policy has the details.

Only on this site

Featured courses and ads are only on FacilityVR Courses. The courses shown on FacilityVR’s careers pages, in FacilityVR Careers Hub and in the careers chat are never paid for or reordered by payment. Providers’ terms for promotion are in our terms of service.
